Shurugwi Town Council is inviting applications from suitably qualified personnel to fill in a vacant post of Plumber.
JOB SUMMARY
To repair, maintain distribution mains, services pipes, reads blueprints and water pipe drawings and determines the layout of the reticulation system in line with Shurugwi Town Council’s ethnics, policies and procedures.
KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Lays new pipes and fixtures on the new projects and mains line ups;
- Installs and services valves, fire hydrants, pressure reducing valves, strainers and air vessels;
- Installs new domestic and commercial water connections and fire mains connections for private properties;
- Conducts/performs meter tests on private properties;
- Repairs reclaimed water mains and utilities;
- Installs and services water meters;
- Maintains pump stations by daily checking of pump stations and reports any faults noticed to the fitters and electrical;
- Performs any other duty relevant as assigned from time to time.
QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE AND PERSONAL ATTRIBUTES
- Journeyman Class one (1) in plumbing and drain laying / equivalent;
- 5 “O” Level including Maths, Science and English;
- 5 years` experience in a similar environment;
