VACANCY: STREET CLEANER: GRADE 1 x 2 POSITION REF: ST/11/25
Applications are invited from suitably qualified, experienced, self-motivated and task-oriented individuals to fill the above position that has arisen within the Town’s Housing and Community Services Department.
KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The incumbent will be reporting to Street Cleaning Supervisor and will be responsible for:
- Clean and maintain streets, sidewalks, and public areas by sweeping, and removing litter and debris;
- Empty trash cans and recyclable bins and transport waste to designated collection points;
- Operate cleaning equipment, such as street sweepers or manual cleaning tools;
- Report any maintenance or repair issues to supervisors or relevant authorities;
- Maintain a safe and clean working environment, adhering to health and safety protocols;
- Performs any other duty within the scope of this job that maybe assigned from time to time.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
- At least two (2) Ordinary Level passes;
- Ability to work under minimum supervision;
- Ability to perform manual labour tasks, work in various weather conditions, and lift heavy objects;
- 2 years of experience working under a Local Authority is an added advantage.
