ENGINEERING DEPARTMENT
VACANCY: TAR PATCHER: GRADE 3 x 2 POSITION REF: TP/11/25
Applications are invited from suitably qualified, experienced, self-motivated and task-oriented individuals to fill the above position that has arisen within the Engineering Department.
KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Prepares pothole for gravel and/or tar patching exercise on council roads;
- Prepares road maintenance material for pothole patching;
- Conduct batching and mixing of road maintenance materials in preparation for pothole patching;
- Conduct vegetation clearing exercise along council roads;
- Cleans tools, road maintenance equipment and vehicles;
- Cleaning of storm water drainage systems on council roads;
- Excavate and concrete lining or stone pitching on storm water drains;
- Performs any other duties in the scope of this job as assigned from time to time.
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
- Ordinary level Education;
- One (1) year experience in a similar environment is an added advantage;
- Ability to work in a physically demanding environment, including lifting and bending;
- Ability to ensure high-quality workmanship and attention to detail;
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
